The Helix combines two technologies for an ablative and non-ablative treatment in one – maximizing your results with a more gentle approach.
The ablative CO2 CoolPeel laser uses DEKA’s high-peak-power H-Pulse to deliver advanced fractional CO2 ablation without causing thermal damage to surrounding tissue, and without the side effects of traditional CO2 lasers. Exclusive to Helix, the non-ablative 1570nm fractional laser targets the water in your skin to gently denature tissue, resulting in a smooth, youthful complexion in all skin types.
Is there any downtime with CoolPeel?
CoolPeel Recovery and Aftercare
Immediately after your CoolPeel treatment, your skin will look slightly red and feel tight and hot, like a sunburn. The next day or two you may feel a little swollen and red, and dark spots may appear. These will disappear or “fall off” within a few days, depending on the intensity of your treatment.

The Tetra CO2 laser, known as the CoolPeel, leverages the exclusive H-Pulse: a high-peak-power short pulse that delivers a fully-ablative treatment without causing thermal damage to surrounding tissue. Without thermal damage, downtime is drastically minimized. At the same time, the system delivers impressive superficial, skin-resurfacing results.
Depending on the type and level of treatment required, your aesthetics practitioner may apply a numbing cream to fully minimize any discomfort. Our patients find this treatment to be very tolerable and much more comfortable than other laser treatments. It is 100% non-invasive.
The Helix uses a technology called H-pulse which delivers short pulse ablative bursts, which don’t cause damage to surrounding tissue. Without the thermal damage caused by traditional CO2 lasers, downtime is significantly reduced while still achieving incredible results.
