What to Expect

How Does the P-Shot Work?
PRP contains concentrated platelets and growth factors involved in tissue repair, cell signaling, and angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels.
Researchers have investigated whether these properties may support vascular and tissue function in men experiencing erectile dysfunction.
Clinical research has produced mixed but evolving results. Some studies and earlier meta-analyses have reported improvements in erectile-function scores following PRP treatment, while more recent analyses of randomized controlled trials have found that PRP has not consistently demonstrated a clinically meaningful advantage over placebo. Additional high-quality research is needed to determine which patients are most likely to benefit and establish standardized treatment protocols.
What to Expect
The P-Shot begins with a simple blood draw. Your blood is processed to create concentrated PRP, and a local or topical anesthetic may be used before the injections are performed.
The procedure is performed in the office and generally requires minimal downtime.

P-Shot and O-Shot
Frequently Asked Questions
You will likely notice an instant and initial increase in volume due to the combination of the platelets and the serum (or water) in the blood, plus all the growth factors in the water that the activated platelets are starting to release. Over the next three days, the body absorbs some of the water. Then there is the growth of new tissue that continues for at least 12 weeks, bringing the volume back up to close to where it was with the initial injection. In some people this decrease in volume is very small, in others, it is a more noticeable decrease. As with any procedure, results will vary from patient to patient. Smokers have the least amount of growth.
You can expect a 10 to 20% increase in length and girth. An inch in length (a little more) and in girth was seen in patients in the first month. Girth came first (with the injection), then length (with continued growth).
The P-Shot injection goes directly into the corpus cavernosum with a small needle and into the head of the penis–in a way almost exactly as done with those who use injections for erectile dysfunction.
Men who have been injecting their penis before sexual activity to prevent ED may inject 3 to 5 times a week over many years. In these cases there is about a 10% incidence of scar tissue formation. With the P-Shot procedure, there is only one injection, so the chances of scar tissue occurring is little to none.
We use a strong lidocaine numbing cream to numb the areas before treatment. Most patients find the procedure to be comfortable and tolerable, and the results far outweigh any discomfort.
