The Science Behind Duo for Men
Low-intensity shock wave therapy has been studied extensively for erectile dysfunction, particularly vasculogenic ED, in which impaired blood flow contributes to erectile difficulties.
In a randomized, sham-controlled clinical trial, men receiving low-intensity shock wave therapy experienced significantly greater improvement in Sexual Health Inventory for Men (SHIM) scores than the sham-treated group. At six months, 54.6% of participants achieved an improvement of at least five points in SHIM score, and 68% of men who began with lower erection-hardness scores improved to a score of 3 or greater.
Other randomized studies have also reported improvements in validated measures of erectile function, although study results have not been uniform and researchers continue to investigate which patients, treatment protocols and devices provide the greatest benefit.

However, results across studies have varied. The American Urological Association’s erectile dysfunction guideline currently considers low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy investigational for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Research regarding female sexual function is earlier-stage, and the evidence base is considerably smaller.
